Digital Marketing in Bulgaria

Bulgaria is the 16th largest country in Europe and also a member state of the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region. Other countries in the region include Romania, Hungary and Poland. The region’s economy has more than doubled since 2000 and this growth is expected to continue. E-commerce sales reported growth of 9% at the end of 2022, and a further 14% in Q1 of 2023. Additionally, disposable income has grown thanks to economic expansion which is great for B2C businesses. For example, growth of disposable income has been highest in CEE at a regional level since 2010, with Sofia seeing a 67% increase, the third highest in the region.

As a member of the CEE, Bulgaria can act as a gateway to the other countries in the block, as well as other larger bordering countries such as Turkey, which is why marketing in Bulgaria could be a great target for your business’ internationalisation strategy if you’re looking to expand into or better perform in that region.
